All Aboard for the "Music Express With Jules!" Children sing and dance to the fun tunes played on the guitar by JCC preschool teacher Jules (his last name is Moss but everyone knows him by his first name), who is decked out in a conductor's hat and carries a train whistle in his hand. The kids are having such a blast - they don't even realize that the 30-minute music and movement program with Jules is an educational activity. As the kids make musical instruments, play them and sing, they also enhance their eye-hand coordination, math skills and memory. "Research shows us that taking different kinds of music classes directly relates to math abilities," says JCC Preschool Director Teri Ferentz. She introduced the "Music Express" program in January because of its educational value and because, as she says, "Jules is a very talented musician who has a wonderful gift and I wanted him to have every opportunity to share his gift."
